Placebo effect: the power of mind

I was scrolling through Instagram reels and saw a reel in which there was a cooler being switched on followed by the loud windy noise.

The reel claimed that “this sound (of the cooler) can make your phone cold”.

If you watch the reel (the link given below), you may feel as if actual cold air is blowing even though you haven’t changed the temperature in the room!

This happens due to the placebo effect! Watching the video of a cooler being switched on and hearing the sound might have triggered an idea or perception in your mind that you would feel colder.

This influences your perception and causes you to experience a sensation of feeling colder.

Placebo effect is used to improve a person’s health or well-being by making them believe in the treatment they are receiving, even if the treatment may not have healing powers!

This shows how much power our beliefs and ideas have in healing us. Here’s the link to the reel if anyone wants to experience it!
