Have you ever felt that food made by someone else tastes better than the one you made despite it being made in the same way? Such as making ice tea from an instant mix pack. Or something as simple as taking out ice cream and scooping it in your bowl versus someone doing it for you can impact the taste.
Despite the whole recipe being the same, it tastes different?
While making your own food, you keep on thinking about it for a long time and put effort into making it. You are already exposed to the food you have been making for a long time which then leads you to just wanting to finish making it. This makes you crave it less and makes you feel it as being “less tasty”. This extended exposure decreases the earlier want to eat and makes it look less desirable.
But when someone makes it for you, you are not exposed to the particular food beforehand. You put no effort in making it and thus it does not lead to a decrease in the desire to eat it.
In the case of ice cream, if it’s too frozen, getting it out of the brick can be a hassle. Over time, you might get exhausted of putting a lot of strength to take out just a few bits of ice cream. This exposure thus leads to you just wanting to get done with it.
But when someone takes out the ice cream for you, you put no effort and receive it without any work. No exposure to it, makes you feel happier to eat it.
Therefore you might feel the difference in taste despite it being the same!
